Prayer Group

‘Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful’   Colossians 4.2.

There is a prayer meeting at Liberton Northfield Parish Church every Saturday morning from 10am to 11am. This has been running for many years.

We generally start with a prayer followed by a Bible reading with brief comments. We then have a time of prayer giving praise and thanks to God as well as confession and adoration. After this we may sing a hymn. We will then have a time of prayer for the church, the community, the nation and the world. We usually finish with a hymn.

You are welcome to join us – there is no pressure on anyone to pray out loud.

Occasionally (about once a year) the prayer meeting runs from 10am to 6pm usually in conjunction with a National Day of Prayer.

Prayer, both personal and corporate, allows us to enter a conscious and personal relationship with our loving, holy and perfect heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ who made it possible for us to have fellowship with God through his blood shed on the cross.

‘For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer.’  1 Peter 3.12.bib
